Born and raised in a traditional Christian home, Micah Gibbs of Lakeland, FL discovered his passion for music after writing his first rhyme in 2005 and by being inspired by a local Tampa hip hop group. Although a hobby at the time he embarked upon what would become his progressive rap journey as Yung Jay. Writing and self producing his first mixtape in the summer of 2008. This lead to a opportunity to make his public debut by writing, producing, releasing a music video for, and performing live his high school anthem “Blue and Green”; his senior year of 2012.
After having a spiritual awakening Micah realized he was not only gifted to make music, but was called with a purpose. Not long after receiving his God given stage name as Heaven Boy Rider (HBR), Micah chose to use his gift for the kingdom of God, by making music for the soul. Resulting in the second creation of his contrasting gospel edition mixtape. Where later that summer he was blessed with another opportunity to performed live for the second time, one of his gospel mixtape tracks. Which was held at his prior church home’s youth explosion revival.
Reaching his third milestone in life; Micah became and is currently a indie artist in affiliation with faith based company Full Potential ENT, since 2012. A year later he got married and was then redirected by the Lord to connect with a new local fellowship of believers. Although the spiritual leaders and owners of FPE support the gift and purpose God has given to Micah/HBR to steward. Emphasis was put on the importance of living as a born again, Holy Spirit filled, disciple of Jesus Christ until God’s appointed time. After years of discipleship and spiritual growth HBR has been released by God to evangelize through music, with urgency.
